Another tutorial on Element 3d!

ANIMATHING WITH ELEMENT 3D by ANDREW KRAMER!

Element 3D Extended Fmamily

more news videocopilot! everything will be available from tomorrow!

We were going to wait and surprise everyone with this news but I see a lot of people wondering where they can find quality 3D models and the answer is now at Video Copilot!

If you have ever purchased a 3D model you know they are pretty expensive, usually ranging from $40-$100 for a SINGLE high quality model so we thought we could save you some time and maybe some money with our very own professionally designed 3D models! All objects are compatible with Element 3D plus your favorite 3D program as well. We’ve included two universal formats (OBJ & FBX) to be ready for your creative works in Element or your favorite dedicated 3D program! (Cinema 4D, 3D Max, Maya, Blender and more)

We have been working with some talented 3D artists to bring these packs to life and they have done an amazing job! So I’d like to thank Stefan, Alexander, Theo and Bobby, I’m sure they are glad the notes are over (“Let’s make that a little more grungy, That one Less shiny, This should be 50% more delicious”.

We have also put these models through some serious quality control to make sure every model meets a high standard. We didn’t just export the 3D files to OBJ & FBX, we opened each one in many popular 3D programs to make sure the polygons loaded correctly.

They will be available with Element 3D this Tuesday including some new bundles. I think we all need a vacation after this!

Stay tuned for another Element 3D tutorial featuring the “Animation Engine”! And to keep expectations under control, it does NOT do physics since simulations since you lose control of Objects but it is quite powerful nonetheless. I will tell you the animation system is what spawned this entire plug-in almost 2 years ago…

NICE!!! :)

c4dtools

 About c4dtools.net

In November 2010 the first XPresso Lesson was held on robertleger.net. This free training series turned out to produce a lot of useful presets, so that xpressopresets.net was launched in May 2011. This website should archive those and other XPresso presets and give developers the chance to sell them.

In November 2011 the website was opened up for developers of other programming languages as well. With a lot of new features and completely redesigned, c4dtools.net is now a platform for everything Cinema 4D.

All products that are offered on this website are tools for Maxon’s Cinema 4D. They will help customers to speed up their workflow so that they can spend more time on being creative rather than trying to figure out technical difficulties.

About Nick

Hi, I’m Nick. I grew up a nerd in Detroit, the oldest son of a fireman and a roller skating teacher. In middle school, I won first prize on America’s Funniest Videos with my impression of Edward Scissorhands imitating Michael Jackson. It earned me $10,000, a girlfriend for a week, and, not surprisingly, very few cool points with my friends.

I landed a string of pretty silly jobs as a magic trick-yo-yo salesman, roller skate rink-wedding DJ, and one of those snobby record store employees. My love for audio engineering, Protools, and Macs crossed paths with a short animated film and my new passion for Motion Design was born.

I studied design, film and animation at the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago and ended up at Digital Kitchen Chicago where I worked on TV commercials and title sequences for Target, Dexter and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. You can see this work at my personal creative portfolio, CreamyOrange.

While studying and working, I started Greyscalegorilla/blog, a personal blog to talk about design and education. This has quickly become one of the leading sites to learn about motion graphics and 3D software bringing over 20,000 visitors per day. Nutty, right?

In 2009, I left Digital Kitchen to start an iPhone Photo App company and to focus more time creating tutorials and designing products for Greyscalegorilla. You can see my random bloggy-blog stuff at Quick Multiball or watch me pretend to be a musician over at CampbellandMonson. Lately, I’ve been speaking to creative types at places like SXSW, SCAD, OFFF, and Hyper Island about how to end up with a job doing work you love to do.

I work in Chicago where I drink a lot of craft beer, play a lot of pinball, listen to a lot of podcasts and live with my super hot and talented wife.

VIDEOCOPILOT

Video Copilot is a collaborative resource for training, design tools and artists. Our goal is to show you what is possible and how effects can be created so that you can apply these techniques on your own creative adventures. We strive to develop distinctive and innovative tools that improve the quality and speed of your production while offering freedom and flexibility.

ABOUT Andrew & Video Copilot

As the host of over 100 tutorials and creator of title sequences for TV’s Fringe and the film Star Trek, Andrew has participated in many forms of production from visual effects artist, to directing commercials and promos. His website Video Copilot has been a progressive force in the visual effects industry with his upbeat training style and innovative plug-ins. As a freelance artist and web designer at age 20, Andrew began to work on the Video Copilot website from his apartment in Southern California. The website started with a single product and a handful of short After Effects tutorials that were featured on the Creative Cow community. His unusual training style and off-beat humor intrigued viewers by showing them powerful techniques for visual effects that were detailed and also entertaining. Not to mention the joy of collaborating with his friend Sam Loya for destructive and punishing effects. In 2007 Andrew released a tutorial based on the Light Streaks effects from the recent iPod commercials that sparked worldwide interest and was even featured on the front page of the popular news site Digg.com. Later that year, the now 2-man team released the popular Riot Gear DVD featuring stock footage of paint and ink elements filmed in their garage. The products success had Andrew and his brother scrambling to fill orders to locations all over the world and helped fuel the company’s passion. The sites online presence has also led to collaborations for Andrew to work with major companies and even the unique opportunity to work with Director J.J. Abrams on Film & TV Projects. Video Copilot has since published over 40 hours of training and has over a dozen professional products and plug-ins used by creative professionals around the world. The Video Copilot team has grown to 6 full-time professionals and recently moved into a new studio space. Andrew continues to work in the film industry in addition to publishing new, exciting products and tutorials for the growing motion graphics and visual effects community.
